Marey ECO110 11 kW Electric Tankless Water Heater
Marey ECO110 11 kW Electric Tankless Water Heater Review
The Marey ECO110 is the entry-level model in Marey's whole-house electric tankless line, designed for 1-bathroom homes in mild climates. At 11 kW (two 30-amp double-pole breakers, about 46 amps continuous), it produces 1.7 GPM at a 60°F rise or 2.2 GPM at a 40°F rise. Marey's positioning is value — the ECO110 lands around $240, roughly half the price of a similarly-sized Rheem RTEX-13 ($389).
The build reflects the price difference. The heat exchanger is copper (vs the EcoSmart's stainless), which means more frequent descaling in hard water. The control board uses simpler thermistor-based modulation than the patent-protected systems on Rheem and EcoSmart. The warranty is shorter — 10 years on the heat exchanger and 1 year on electronics, versus lifetime/5-year for the established competitors.
Right buyer: budget-constrained homeowners in soft-water areas with single-bathroom homes, RV owners with high-amp shore power, off-grid solar setups where the unit is part of a larger system rather than the primary residential heat source. Wrong buyer: any household that depends on consistent hot water for primary residence use — the lower warranty coverage and tighter modulation tolerance mean more frequent service calls over the unit's life.
Installation requirements identical to other electric tankless: two 30-amp double-pole breakers, 6-AWG copper run to the unit, 3/4" NPT water connections, GFCI-protected supply, and proper grounding. DIY-reasonable for any homeowner comfortable with breaker-panel work; otherwise expect $400–$700 in electrician labor.
