The Suburban On-Demand 5240A is a 2.4 GPM RV tankless water heater, Suburban's entry into the RV tankless category. Designed to replace existing 6-gallon storage tanks with tankless format. Propane-only operation.

Specs: 55,000 BTU propane burner, 2.4 GPM peak at a 35°F rise, sealed exterior venting, 12V DC ignition control. Fits in standard 6-gallon Suburban storage tank cutout with included trim adapters.

The Suburban On-Demand competes directly with the Furrion FWH09BL in the RV tankless market. Both deliver similar specs at similar price points. Suburban's advantage: existing RV owners with prior Suburban storage tanks have brand familiarity and the install drops in cleanly to the existing cutout.

Trade-offs vs Furrion: smaller US service network (Furrion has wider dealer presence), slightly older platform design, but proven reliability through Suburban's long RV market presence.
