Marey ECO270 26 kW Electric Tankless Water Heater

The Marey ECO270 is the largest unit in Marey's whole-house electric tankless line at 26 kW. Sized for 2-3 bathroom cold-climate homes or 3+ bathroom warm-climate homes. Three 50-amp double-pole breakers, 108A continuous draw at 240V. Requires 200A service with substantial headroom.

Capacity: 3.1 GPM at a 60°F rise (typical Northeast winter) or 4.6 GPM at a 40°F rise (Sun Belt). Two simultaneous showers possible in cold climates, three in warm climates. Copper heat exchanger (needs more frequent descaling in hard water than stainless-exchanger competitors).

Marey positions the ECO270 as the value alternative to EcoSmart ECO 27 at substantially lower price — about $700 unit versus $629 for the EcoSmart, but Marey's 10-year heat-exchanger warranty (vs EcoSmart's lifetime) and 1-year electronics warranty (vs EcoSmart's lifetime) reflect the cost differences.

Right buyer: budget-conscious whole-house electric tankless install in soft-water regions, particularly RV park / multi-unit applications where per-unit cost difference matters across many installs. Wrong buyer: hard-water households (descaling burden becomes problematic), households expecting long-term primary residence service where the EcoSmart warranty pays back.
