The Kenmore Elite Hybrid was Sears' competitor to Rheem ProTerra and AO Smith Voltex in the heat-pump category. Service support continues through A.O. Smith's network with the Kenmore Elite model number used for identification.
For replacement of existing Kenmore Elite Hybrid units: AO Smith Voltex Premium HPTU-50 or Rheem ProTerra 50-gal Hybrid are direct replacements. About $1,899 for ProTerra replacement, $2,800 installed before rebates.
