Plastic drain plug standard on all Dometic/Atwood RV water heaters. Replace with Teflon tape.

  • Plastic OEM plug: $3-8
  • 10-pack: $25-40
  • Apply 3-4 wraps Teflon tape; hand-tight plus ¼-turn — do not overtighten

Don\'t use a brass anode rod

Aluminum tanks don\'t need anode protection; dissimilar metal contact (brass on aluminum) accelerates corrosion. Stick with the plastic plug.
