The Patriot is the right Eljer if you want Eljer brand pedigree + modern WaterSense compliance + universal aftermarket parts + supply-house-channel distribution. It is the wrong Eljer if you're looking for designer aesthetics, smart-toilet features, or maximum WaterSense efficiency (the dual-flush Aqua-Saver II beats Patriot's 1.28 single-flush on average water use per flush).

Important Patriot-specific install notes

• The fill valve uses a 3-inch shank (Eljer-spec) — NOT the universal Fluidmaster 2.5-inch shank. If you need to replace the fill valve later, you'll need a Mansfield-Eljer fill valve (091-7320) OR a Fluidmaster 400UAK universal adapter kit. The flush valve is universal-fit (Korky 2032BP works), but the fill valve isn't.
• Tank-to-bowl gasket is Eljer-specific — wider than universal. The bagged Eljer gasket in the box is the right one; don't substitute a universal AmStd/Kohler gasket.
• Rough-in: 12 inches (standard).

Install procedure (60-75 minutes)

1. Shut off water supply at the valve. Flush the old toilet to empty the tank.
2. Remove existing toilet. Scrape wax ring, inspect floor flange.
3. Install new wax ring (horn-style optional for Patriot — flat wax ring is sufficient).
4. Set bowl on flange, pressing straight down. Hand-tighten flange bolts.
5. Install Eljer tank-to-bowl gasket on bowl outlet. Set tank onto bowl. Hand-tighten tank bolts.
6. Connect supply line to Eljer 3-inch fill valve shank. (If your old supply line is shorter than 12 inches, you'll need a new one — 12-inch braided is the standard length.)
7. Open shutoff valve. Fill tank. Check for leaks at tank-to-bowl gasket, fill valve, and base.
8. Test flush 3-5 times. Adjust water level if needed (line on flush valve).
9. Install seat (sold separately).
