Brita On Tap Filter Cartridge Performance
The Brita On Tap FF-100 uses an activated carbon + ion exchange resin filter medium certified to NSF 42 (chlorine taste and odor) and NSF 53 (lead, class VI reduction). In hard water above 15 GPG, filter life shortens to 70--80 gallons as calcium clogs the carbon pores faster than in soft water. In soft or treated water, the filter reaches or slightly exceeds the rated 100-gallon life. Filter status: the Brita On Tap includes a battery-operated electronic indicator that counts gallons and displays green (good), yellow (replace soon), and red (replace now). The indicator cannot be reset manually -- it resets automatically when the cartridge is replaced (the new cartridge depresses a small button in the filter housing that resets the counter).
