Coway Bidet Install Guide

Coway bidet seat installation guide. Standard electric bidet seat procedure -- 30-45 minutes for most homeowners. Compatible with all standard US round and elongated toilet bowls with a 110V GFCI outlet within 4 feet.

Updated Aug 2026 · Coway Bidets

Coway bidet seats (BA-08, BA-13, and BA-15 series) install using the same procedure as all electric bidet seats. The Coway mounting system uses a rear-mount plate that attaches to the standard toilet bolt pattern. No permanent modifications to the toilet or plumbing are required.

Prerequisites

  • A 110V GFCI outlet within 4 feet of the toilet (required by NEC code in bathrooms)
  • An accessible cold water shutoff valve at the base of the toilet tank
  • Confirmation that the toilet bowl is round or elongated and matches the Coway seat compatibility (Coway seats fit standard US bowls -- not French curve or non-standard Japanese bowl shapes)

Installation steps

  1. Shut off the water supply at the shutoff valve and flush the toilet to empty the tank.
  2. Remove the existing toilet seat by unscrewing the mounting bolts from under the bowl rim.
  3. Attach the Coway mounting plate to the toilet bowl using the two mounting bolts. Tighten until the plate does not shift when the seat is installed -- do not overtighten against porcelain.
  4. Install the T-valve by disconnecting the fill hose at the shutoff valve, threading the brass T-valve onto the shutoff, then reconnecting the fill hose to the T-valve pass-through port.
  5. Attach the bidet supply hose from the T-valve side port to the Coway seat cold water inlet.
  6. Mount the Coway seat by aligning it with the rear plate and sliding forward until the locking tab engages.
  7. Open the shutoff valve slowly and check all fittings for drips. Confirm the toilet tank refills normally.
  8. Plug the seat into the GFCI outlet. The Coway seat indicator light will illuminate to confirm power.

Post-installation checks

  • Confirm the seat position sensor prevents wash activation when the seat is unoccupied
  • Test all wash modes (front, rear, pulsating) via the remote control
  • Confirm the seat heating and dryer functions if included in the purchased model
  • Check for water at all hose connections after 24 hours of use

Common installation issues

  • Seat shifts side to side: The mounting plate bolts need tightening. Remove the seat from the plate and retighten the plate bolts before reinstalling.
  • Seat not sliding onto plate: Confirm the plate locking tab is in the open position before aligning the seat.
