Alcove jetted installation
Standard alcove installation (mortar bed, ledger boards, drain connection) plus: install a dedicated 120V/20A GFCI circuit before the tub goes in; the pump junction box is inside the tub apron -- access is through the apron access panel (pre-cut or field-cut per installation guide). Complete electrical connection before finishing the apron tile or panel.
Access panel requirement
All Whirlpool jetted tubs require an accessible service panel for the pump. If tiling over the apron, use a removable access panel in the tile rather than solid tile -- gluing tile over the access panel makes future pump service require tile demolition. Plan the access panel location before tiling begins.
