Registration
Navien recommends registering within 30 days of installation via NaviLink app or navieninc.com. Without registration, Navien defaults to manufacture date as warranty start — which loses you potentially 6-12 months of coverage if the unit sat in a warehouse before installation. Always register.
Filing a claim
- Note the displayed error code
- Photograph the data plate
- Call 1-800-519-8794 or have your installing plumber call
- Navien dispatches the part to a Navien Service Specialist (NSS) or registered installer
- Labor coverage applies only in year 1
What voids the warranty
- No annual descaling in hard-water regions (over 11 grains per gallon)
- Installation by a non-licensed plumber in jurisdictions requiring permits
- Combi boiler installed without proper hydronic design (primary/secondary loop, expansion tank, low-loss header where needed)
- NG unit converted to LP without Navien conversion kit and recalibration
- Use of non-Navien parts in repairs during warranty period
