Navien America customer service: 1-800-519-8794. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 8 PM Eastern. Hold times are longer than Rinnai (15-30 minutes during peak), but technicians are competent and well-trained on the product family.
What to have ready
- Model number — data plate on the side of the unit
- Serial number — same plate
- Error code if displayed
- Install date if you have records (helps with warranty)
- Symptom summary — what happened, when, what changes
- For combi: heating system description (radiators, baseboards, in-floor; primary/secondary?)
What Navien support can do
- Walk you through error code diagnostics over the phone
- Confirm warranty coverage by serial number
- Dispatch parts to a Navien Service Specialist (NSS) or registered installer
- Locate the nearest Navien Service Specialist (NSS) via dealer locator
- Email the installation or owner manual
- Help with NaviLink Wi-Fi pairing and account issues
What they won't do
- Ship parts directly to a homeowner (must go through an NSS or installer)
- Dispatch a technician (the NSS does this; Navien pays labor only inside year 1)
- Help with hydronic system design beyond what's in the Hydronic Piping Guide — a heating contractor is the right resource for that
The Navien Service Specialist (NSS) program
Navien has a tiered installer program. Navien Service Specialists (NSS) are the top tier — they've completed Navien factory training, carry Navien parts inventory, and have direct phone access to Navien engineering for difficult cases. For combi boiler installs especially, an NSS is meaningfully better than a generic plumber. Use the locator at navieninc.com.
Other Navien contact points
- Sales / wholesale: ask for the regional Navien sales rep through your installer or NSS
- NaviLink app support: in-app contact or escalate via 1-800-519-8794
- Email: customer-service@navieninc.com — slower response, useful for non-urgent
Bottom line
For NPE tankless issues, Navien support is competent and reasonably fast. For combi boiler issues — find an NSS first and go through them; the combi side has too many variables for phone-only diagnosis.
