Marey GA10LP 3.1 GPM Outdoor LP Tankless Water Heater
Marey GA10LP 3.1 GPM Outdoor LP Tankless Water Heater Review
The Marey GA10LP is a 3.1 GPM outdoor LP-fired tankless water heater designed for off-grid and cabin applications. The "GA" prefix identifies it as gas-fired, the "10" reflects its 10-liter-per-minute peak rating (about 2.6 GPM in US measurement at a moderate temperature rise), and "LP" indicates propane fuel. It is one of Marey's mid-range outdoor units, positioned above the smaller GA6 and below the GA16.
Specs: 75,000 BTU propane burner, 3.1 GPM peak (at a 35°F rise — drops to roughly 1.8 GPM at a 75°F rise), battery-fired ignition using two D-cells (no 120V required), built-in temperature regulation via two dial controls (one for gas flow, one for water flow). Outdoor-only — combustion gases vent directly out the front of the unit, and indoor installation creates CO risk. Wall-mount with included mounting bracket.
Common applications: outdoor showers at cabins, hunting camps, and lake houses; pool-side rinse stations; RV exterior wash setups; emergency hot-water provision in regions where utility power may go out for days. The battery ignition is the key advantage versus indoor tankless units — works without shore power, generator, or solar.
Limitations: the unit is exposed to weather. Manufacturer specifies operation between 36°F and 110°F ambient; below freezing, the unit must be drained and disconnected to prevent freeze damage. The chrome plating on external fittings begins to corrode within a few seasons in coastal salt-air environments. Expected lifespan 5–10 years with seasonal storage; shorter in continuous-outdoor harsh-climate use.
About $300 unit (often bundled with showerhead and stand), 1-year warranty. Parts available through Marey's US dealer network, replacement gas-control valves and ignition components in stock at major outdoor retailers (Cabela's, Bass Pro).
