Atwood G6A-7 6-Gallon LP-Only RV Water Heater Review
The Atwood G6A-7 is a 6-gallon LP-only RV water heater. Predecessor to the current Atwood G6A-8 / Dometic GC6AA-7 LP-only units. The "G6A-7" identifies the 6-gallon Atwood gas water heater with the "7" BTU output class.
Specs: 6 gallons stored, 8,800 BTU propane burner, electronic ignition control (newer than older Atwood standing-pilot units), 12V DC operation. Aluminum tank with sacrificial anode rod option.
LP-only configuration is the cost-saving choice for RVs without electric water heater demand. Common in smaller RVs and boondock-focused use.
About $400 for replacement, $200-$350 installed. Current production is Dometic-branded. Parts available through Camping World with the Atwood model number used for identification.
